About the INXS
The INXS is a neutral Internet Exchange Point in Munich (INXS MUC) and is operated by Cable & Wireless Telecommunication Services GmbH. The Munich INXS was founded back in 1994 and was the first internet exchange in Germany.
INXS provides a professional environment and infrastructure for IPv4 and IPv6, unicast and multicast BGP peerings between the connected ISPs.
Remarkable advantages:
- Open House Policy:
- Every carrier is free to offer lines to the INXS and every ISP is free to get housing, connect to the INXS itself, establish private peerings over direct links or buy/sell uplink via direct links.
- Carrier class facilities:
- diverse transformer feeds, high capacity power generator and online UPS. Some carriers offer dual diverse entry.
- ISPs are free to make the INXS their Point of Presence in Munich
INXS offers
- One or more switched 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports
- All peers have direct BGP4 session, there's no route server and no obligation to peer with anyone.
- Charging for peering is allowed
- Public and member statistics
- Member informations, including contact information, links to peering policies e.t.c.
